Do
you know what your cardiovascular risk REALLY
is?
The Heart
Attack Prevention Institute (HAPI) of Naples, FL provides advanced diagnostic
and treatment options for patients with lipid
disorders. Our state-of-the-art approach to these
disorders allows preventative and long-term management care for
patients with abnormal blood cholesterol levels, diabetes,
cardiovascular disease and others at risk for developing
cardiovascular disease.
You
need better information...
There is much more
to diagnosing and managing lipid disorders than measuring blood
cholesterol levels. The vast majority of today's tests don't
tell the whole story. The Heart Attack
Prevention Institute of Naples,
FL is the only "lipid
clinic" in SW
Florida that delivers state-of-the-art
diagnosis and treatment of lipid disorders using the NMR
LipoProfile. This test provides both traditional
lipid values as well as the number of atherogenic
lipoprotein particles to better identify and manage those at
risk for cardiovascular disease. Such
detailed information allows the development of an
individualized diet, exercise and medication plan for each
patient to fend off cardiovascular disease. This
plan may include consultations with a registered dietitian and/or
physical therapist as well as follow-up visits with the
physician.
Registered
Dietitians (RDs)
A registered dietitian (RD) is a specialist in
nutrition that holds a credential to practice. RDs are trained
to help patients choose the proper foods to
promote optimal health and attain proper body weight. Many
scientific studies show that patients can decrease their
risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes and many other
chronic health conditions using appropriate dietary
changes. To guide you, a referral to a qualified nutrition
specialist may be
included.
Physical
Therapists (PTs)
A physical therapist (PT) is a specialist
in physical activity and exercise that holds a credential to
practice. PTs are trained to help patients develop the proper
exercise and activity program to promote good health and attain
proper body weight. Many scientific studies show
that patients can decrease their risk for cardiovascular
disease, diabetes and many other chronic health conditions
using appropriate exercise and physical
activity changes. To guide you, a referral to a qualified
exercise specialist may be
included.
